Activepieces

Automation software with a hosted free plan and a self-hosted MIT-licensed core; enterprise features have separate licensing.

Who it suits

A good fit for

  • Teams evaluating hosted automation or operating a self-hosted open-source core

Consider something else if

  • Users without an owner for self-hosting, backups and connector maintenance

Key features

Hosted automation
Free lists unlimited flows with a credit allowance.
Open-source core
Core is MIT licensed; enterprise and cloud features can have commercial licensing.
Self-hosting
Infrastructure, credentials, updates and monitoring remain your responsibility.

Activepieces pricing

Hosted Free lists 1,000 credits a month and unlimited flows. The page conflicts about refresh timing; confirm it before relying on capacity.

Cloud Free and open source are different options

Activepieces lists a hosted Free plan with 1,000 credits a month and unlimited flows. Its pricing page also conflicts about when credits refresh: the headline and one FAQ use monthly language, while a table and another answer mention daily refresh. We therefore do not promise a particular recovery time after reaching the limit. Confirm the allowance and reset behavior in the actual plan.

    What is open source?

The project’s license documentation says the core is released under MIT, while enterprise and cloud-edition features have a commercial license. Self-hosting the open-source core does not automatically grant every feature shown in a hosted or enterprise plan. Verify the current license and required features before deploying it for a business.

    The operational cost

A self-hosted tool still requires infrastructure, backups, monitoring, upgrades and secure connector credentials. Budget for the person who investigates a failed run or expired token. If no one owns those tasks, a hosted free pilot can be the more practical evaluation.

The free Zapier alternatives guide compares this option with Make and explains migration testing. Use the workflow trial worksheet to record exact actions, sample inputs, error handling and measured usage. We have not operated or benchmarked Activepieces for this profile.
