OnPay’s payroll-base pricing should be compared with a competitor’s required payroll tier, rather than with a differently scoped bundle. Its page lists Payroll Essentials at a base fee plus a worker charge, alongside additional products.

The US$55 starting message is consistent with US$49 plus one US$6 worker. It is not the cost for a team of any size. Confirm how seasonal staff and contractors count in the billing period, and which additional services your company needs.

These are documented facts checked on 6 October 2026. We have not run payroll with OnPay. The US small-business payroll comparison covers approvals, corrections, funding cutoffs and provider handover.
